Moon Mapping Is a Next-Level Way to Bring Your Goals to Life

What you do during a new moon will decide what will occur on a full moon.

Like how the moon has many phases within a month, it’s believed that we do as well, experiencing different energetic shifts that, when used aligned with the moon phases, can help our lives run more productively and more smoothly. This idea is known as moon mapping.

Moon mapping offers an energetic lunar blueprint that provides insight into scheduling and planning out what our weeks and months look like. It is a spiritual and cosmic way to live more in tune with ourselves.

Why the moon? It’s based mostly on the fact that up to 60% of the human body is made up of water.

SO since the moon has a significant effect on tides and the oceans, it also significantly influences our life flow. The more we learn about the lunar cycles, the more we can see how they affect our daily lives, emotions, and fortune. When we understand them, life becomes easier as we become more conscious of our part in the great web of life.

It’s also a system that’s been historically associated with mapping out agriculture each year used by many gardeners and farmers today.

What is moon mapping best use for?

Throughout its cycle, you can outline the moon to help you in all activities. The moon’s energy impacts every element of our lives.

What does moon mapping, goal-setting, and productivity have to do with one another?

Our modern-day Gregorian calendar charts the sun cycle and not the moon. As a result, it is not in course with nature’s natural rhythms tied to a 28-day moon cycle. Nature doesn’t begin flowering in December; it waits until the right season to produce fruit. Likewise, when we start heeding the moon and the seasons, we stop aimlessly walking through life, making choices and decisions that don’t work, and start to use the natural movement around us to harmonize with nature. We let nature lead us and let go of the ego.

As a result, we save energy and time and create a thriving environment for our relationships and projects. We also become more cognizant of the magic and synchronicities that happen when we try to manage everything and allow things to happen independently.

How do the different moon phases affect our energy?

The new moon

This is the lunar cycle’s start and a time to focus on what you want to achieve during this phase. It is ideal for planting ideas or releasing ideas into the world to manifest as the moon waxes to full.

This is the moon phase to contemplate your current direction or start in a new direction. It is time to make your intentions clear and clearly define your hopes, desires, and wishes.

The waxing crescent moon

This is during the time that the moon becomes a sliver of a crescent after the new moon. Waxing symbolizes a time of manifesting ideas into reality. This is a time to make a new decision in your life or call in new relationships. It’s also time to reaffirm your intentions after reconnecting and recharging to yourself beneath the new moon.

This is the time to set yourself into your new meditation practice and begin working with the fresh energy to call in your manifestations as the waxing crescent teaches us to be inspired, positive, and committed to ourselves and our practice.

The first quarter or half-moon

The moon reaches the first quarter or half-moon about a week after the new moon, with half of the moon (the right side) illuminated by the sun.

This is a time for putting our dreams and intentions into action. It knows that some resistance may be felt around this time in the form of fears and obstacles. This is a time to be confident in our decisions and reconnect to our intentions. The half-moon asks us to get focused and clear on what we’re asking and fully commit to our actions.

Primarily, this is a time to tell any obstacles or fears goodbye!

The waxing gibbous moon

2 weeks after the new moon, we meet a waxing gibbous moon that is easily visible in the sky. This is where the moon is one phase away from being full.

Momentum and energy are strongly felt around this time and offer the space to re-evaluate how our intentions are going. All our plans and ideas have the potential to be refined and cultivated before entering the full moon. This is when we decide what is and is not working.

This is the best time to recognize what needs to change and what is not lining up with your growth at this time in your life.

The full moon

The full moon is when the energy of the moon is at its most potent. It is a time of bringing to fruition projects, cycles, and the fruits of our labors. It is a time of completion. It can also lead to disruptions and depression if we fall short of our potential. This is when you need to bring to the exterior whatever is being contained in mind.

The waning gibbous

After the full moon, the moon starts to wane or get smaller as the moon’s visibility decreases. The waning gibbous moon brings out energy for stronger revelations and communication. This energy is transformative and encourages a change in perspective. We move into greater alignment with the universe and the self. This is a time of feeling loved and abundant and a time for discovering your own personal light.

The third-quarter moon

Only the moon’s left half is illuminated as it turns toward a new moon during this time. This phase asks for a lot of introspection and awareness as you come to terms with relationships, ideas, or things that may not be aligned with your life.

The last or third quarter moon gives us the space to let go, mirroring the moon as she creates a fresh beginning and moves back to a new moon. As a result, it’s a great time to cleanse yourself and the environment around you.

The waning crescent

A tiny part of the moon is illuminated and will continue to get smaller and smaller. It’s a time for surrender and rest. Your physical energy is preparing itself for a new cycle, like the moon herself. This is a chance to completely open yourself to the universe and treat yourself gently and wait for the new moon to start anything new.

Some benefits of working with the moon

One important word: flow. Planning your life according to the moon will help you adjust to a more natural way of life with more ease and less force. When we begin mapping the moon, we begin to flow with nature’s rhythm rather than manmade calendars. We are an important part of nature. We realize that time is not linear but cyclical, in tune with the natural harmony around us. The more we attune ourselves to the cycles of nature, the happier and more balanced our lives become.
