SportsPulse: It’s the trade we’ve all been waiting for and one that will form this offseason and the NBA landscape for a long time to come. In addition, it makes the Lakers an immediate contender in the West.

Eventually, Anthony Davis is led to Laker Land

The New Orleans Pelicans agreed to trade the celebrity large guy Saturday in a blockbuster deal, ending weeks of speculation and shaking up the NBA picture.

And like this, the Lakers, who’ve missed the postseason for a franchise-record six successive seasons, are all on the road to title contention yet again. And LeBron James could not be more happier.

James, 34, took to Instagram Saturday night to welcome his newest teammate.

“AD on da manner!!  @antdavis23. Let us get it bro! Just the beginning. .  #LakeShow,” James wrote as the caption to a edited photo of himself standing next to Davis about the courtroom — both sporting Lakers jerseys.

Davis — who’s symbolized by Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Group, who also signifies James — was connected to the Lakers since he asked a trade from the Pelicans in January, but a deal never came to fruition.

At Davis, the Lakers will include a top-tier ability and formidable defensive presence with career averages of 23.7 factors, 10.5 rebounds and 2.4 blocks. The 26-year old has one season remaining on his existing contract and is scheduled to hit free agency in 2020.

Together with the harms to Golden State celebrities Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson, the Lakers have been in prime position to become frontrunners from the Western Conference next season, because they have the cap space to sign another celebrity (Kyrie Irving or Kemba Walker, perhaps? ) after free agency starts on June 30.
