Trump takes credit for Red Sox turnaround

President Donald Trump attempted to take charge on Monday to get a sudden turnaround in the Boston Red Sox’ year, pointing out the reigning World Series champions have gone undefeated because their fraught trip to the White House a week.

“Has anybody noticed that the Boston @RedSox have achieved is WIN because coming to the White House!” Trump wrote at a tweet. “Others have also done very well. The White House visit is currently becoming the contrary of being on the cover of Sports Illustrated! Incidentally, the Boston players have been GREAT men!”

The Red Sox, who visited the White House last Thursday, spanned all three of the home games on the weekend against the Seattle Mariners, scoring 34 conducts across the 3 games. Boston has won eight of its last 10 games, a stretch that predates the team’s reception with the president.

Championship-winning sports team visits to the White House have come to be particularly politicized through the Trump government , and the president also has yanked invitations for at least two teams after prominent athletes said they would not attend the traditionally unremarkable occasions.
